Do you remember the famous internet fad, Momo challenge? A dangerous online game that encourages children to hurt themselves and others. In the challenge, the people received messages from a contact named Momo who gave them instruction to follow and failure in following them resulted in death threats. Now the terrifying ‘game’ is said to be showing altered versions of children’s TV shows like Peppa Pig on YouTube.
A recent report shows that MoMo challenge character is popping up in the middle of the video, asking them to commit dangerous acts. One of the parents who saw it explains that after two or three minutes of the video, suddenly fake video starts which are not made by the official creator where Peppa and other characters being cruelly attacked and obscenely tortured.
Or some videos first show the Momo character – a creepy woman with straggly hair, protruding eyes, and a devil grin appears on the clip to entice children to contact her through social media.

Parents, you must know what your kids are watching online and always keep an eye on them while they are using your mobile phone. In some cases, this challenge even threatens people to release some personal information or pictures.
Kids are very young to understand such things so maintain a communication channel with them and tell them about these acts.
To this whole incident, a YouTube spokesperson said: “We work to ensure the videos in YouTube Kids are family-friendly and take feedback very seriously. We appreciate people drawing problematic content to our attention, and make it possible for anyone to flag a video.
