Children are bored as they cannot go out because of the pandemic and pollution so involve them in fun activities that make them understand the value of these festivals. For that arrange a party for their friends and make it interesting and informative too with the following ways.
Theme
The first and foremost thing you must keep in mind is the theme of the party. Ask everyone to come in ethnic attires and give a gift to the most well dressed one. In such a way every kid will come nicely dressed and the theme too will be kept intact.
Prepare a Play
It’s important for every kid to know the stories of our Indian mythology so prepare a skit on the story of Lord Rama’s win over evil and his triumphant return to his people in Ayodhya. This will make children understand the meaning of Diwali and also enhance their talent.
Rangoli Competition
Kids love creativity and are always ready to do something enjoyable so keep a rangoli competition and ask them to showcase their artistic skills. Give prizes to the best ones.
Light the Diyas
Include some fun games and ask them to make groups for it. You can even include some fun Diwali related art and craft activities.
Food
Place some yummy desserts and tasty snacks to make them stay cheerful throughout the evening. Also use your creativeness and prepare these items according to the theme, make cracker diyas, vegetable kebabs in the shape of fireworks, etc.
Decoration
Decorate the place with all the waste material like waste paper lanterns, yarn string lights, paper torans, clay flowers etc. This will attract them and also make them learn the value of waste material and how we should actually take a step towards a friendly environment.
Lastly don’t encourage firework and tell them the harmful effects of burning crackers. Also take all the safety measures like mask , sanitization and social distancing at the party
