We always keep in mind to feed our kid healthy meals, but we often forget to focus on their hydration and water intake. Almost every part of your kid’s body needs water to function properly as body uses water to maintain its temperature, remove waste and keep them more active. It is important to take care of their water intake as whole day they keep playing and running around so we suggest you few ways to do so
-
Make them carry water bottle always
Buy a compact water bottle for your kids, as they are easy to carry and hand it over to them whenever they go out for playing.
-
Avoid giving them beverages
Ask them to drink water instead of soft drinks and caffeinated beverages. Every time when they ask for soft drinks, ask them to finish a glass of water first.
-
Make it tasty
If your kids love juice, then mix water with lemon or fruits like melon, oranges, or grapes to create different flavors. Let your kid mix up this water so they will be more interested in drinking it.
- Whole Fruits
It doesn’t have to be water – many fruits and vegetables like watermelon, strawberries, broccoli, celery, cucumbers too have very high water content.
-
Make water visible
Children are more likely to drink water when they see it, so place water at various places around the house. Always keep a pitcher full in the kitchen and serve water with dinner, also keep a glass full of water on the table next to the bed.
-
Coconut water
Make your kids drink coconut water daily as it is loaded with vitamins and minerals and is very beneficial for kids.
- Make Popsicles
Make your own popsicles for a fluid-rich treat. Puree fruit or use no-sugar-added fruit juice and pour into freezer molds.
Always remember less consumption of water causes dehydration in kids.
