Stretch marks occur when our body suddenly gains or loses excess weight and during pregnancy, with the baby growing inside the womb, the skin stretches beyond its capacity, leading to stretch marks. Though there are loads of cosmetic treatments available to remove stretch mark but they are quite expensive. So we list few natural remedies which are safe and inexpensive too.
Oil Massage
Although, it is a time-taking process, but it gives good results when followed regularly. Take some oil in your palms and smoothly massage the area then, keep it for at least 30 minutes so that the vitamin A, D, and E in the oil are absorbed into the skin.
Aloe Vera
Use fresh aloe vera gel and rub it directly over the skin, leave for 15 minutes and wash it off using lukewarm water. Apply to the affected areas regularly.
Honey
Take a small cloth and apply honey on the affected area and let it remain until it turns dry. Rinse off using warm water, you can also make a scrub of honey by mixing it with salt and glycerin. The antiseptic property of honey helps in reducing stretch marks.
Sugar
Sugar is one of the best remedies for stretch marks as it exfoliates the dead skin, which lightens the stretch marks. Take one tablespoon of sugar, mix it with some almond oil and a few drops of lemon juice. Use it as a scrub before shower every day for a month.
Lemon Juice
Rub fresh lemon juice on the affected area and leave it for about 10 minutes until the juice soaks into your skin. The acidic property of lemon juice works in healing stretch marks. Rinse off using warm water and apply this every day for better results.
Water
Water is very important to keep your skin well-hydrated and to erase the stretch marks and other skin conditions. Drink at least 10 to 12 glasses of water every day to keep your skin hydrated and safe from toxins.
Apricot
Cut apricot into small pieces and blend it in a blender. Apply this paste on the stretch marks for 15 to 20 minutes and then rinse off with lukewarm water.
Potato Juice
Cut a potato into two halves and rub over the stretch marks, wait till the juice soaks into the skin. You can notice the difference in a few months as potato contains phytochemicals, polyphenols, and carotenoids, which improve the skin texture.
Egg White
Egg white helps in rejuvenating the skin and makes it look fresh. Beat eggs, clean the affected area with water and apply a thick layer of egg white on it. Let it dry and then rinse off using cold water. Repeat this every day for at least two weeks.
Cocoa Butter
It is the primary ingredient present in most of the body lotions. This remedy improves the skin elasticity, prevents dryness and reduces the stretch marks. Take some cocoa butter and apply on the stretch marks regularly.
